Patricia Heaton is
negotiating with Buena Vista
TV to produce and co-host a
daily hourlong series to
fill the slot between hit
"Live With Regis and Kelly"
and "The View."
Buena Vista has had
trouble filling the 10 a.m.
hammock between its biggest
syndies hit, "Regis and
Kelly," and "The View."
Neither "The Tony Danza
Show" nor "The Wayne Brady
Show" did the trick.
Reps for Buena Vista were
unavailable for comment on
the Heaton project.
Heaton, one of the stars of
"Everybody Loves Raymond,"
also is starring in and exec
producing an
untitled sitcom
pilot for Buena Vista
siblings ABC and Touchstone
TV.
If the syndie show lands a
Buena Vista deal, Heaton
would co-produce it with her
husband, David Hunt of Four
Boys Films. Three other
women, still uncast, would
share the couch with Heaton.
The four would focus their
discussion more on family
and household issues than on
news-of-the-day topics.
The conservative Heaton
often refuses to march in
step with Hollywood's left
wing, expressing views not
always popular with most
celebs and execs. She's the
author of the 2002 memoir
"Motherhood and Hollywood:
How to Get a Job Like Mine."
If both the sitcom and the
syndie show get picked up,
CAA-repped Heaton is
prepared to do the two
shows, similar to Kelly
Ripa, who appears in the ABC
sitcom "Hope and Faith" as
well as "Regis & Kelly"
every weekday.
Nikki Joel and Danielle
Sterling also will serve as
producers if the syndicated
Heaton hour goes to series.
