In Touch with Patricia Heaton: Dealing with Life without Raymond

In Touch Magazine | Thanks D. for the transcript.

The Everybody Loves Raymond star already has another project - spending more time with her family.

After nine seasons playing Debra Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond, Patricia Heaton is overcome with emotion that it's all over.  "I'm surprised," she admits. "I thought I'd be more prepared."

While the Ohio native, 46, is sad to leave her sitcom family behind, she is
excited about spending more time with her own clan: husband David hunt and sons, Sam 11, John 9, Joe 7 and Dan 6. "There is a sense of wanting to just focus on family for a while," she says. "I would really like to stay at home."

Sex and Humor:

On a regular day, it's 9:30 or 10 before I get into bed. If my husband has
his Breathe Right strip on his nose, I know I don't have to worry about having
sex with him. But if he doesn't have the strip on, it's like, 'One more thing
to do before bed!"

More time with Family:

"I spend as much time with my kids as any mom who stays home. I only work during the hours they're at school, but there is always the sense of trying to catch up with all their stuff and not only organize my work life but also their school lives."

"My kids are learning their multiplication tables, which is the most painful
thing I've ever gone through!"

Strange Souvenir: Is there a souvenir you'd like to take from the set?

"I have these very sort of big, ugly bathrobes that I wore to cover myself up
when I was pregnant, and I think that I'll have to take one of those with me."
